We invited a team from the British Isles called English in Action to join 3a, 4a and 4b in February. This meant that three English-speaking teachers came to our school and organised lessons for the entire day – 25 hours of English in one week! The lessons, the games, sporting activities and, at the end of the week, the show for the parents were all thoroughly enjoyed by the pupils. The children presented some of the work they had done during the week – that included the various topics the children had researched in small groups, a treasure map activity, a talent show and sketches about school-life.
The goal of such a week is to build on the English work done in the course of the years in normal lessons and, through this intense week, to support the pupils in particular with their oral work. An experience to be repeated!
